Main Competitions and Activities
We compete against teams around the state and (virtually) against teams from around the country!

- AMC10/AMC12 Competition: National math competition with an invitational round (AIME) and national round (U.S. Math Olympiad), eventually determining the U.S. team for the International Math Olympiad.
To be offered in both online and print formats.
AMC 10/12 A: Held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 (Regular registration deadline: 10/26/2023)
AMC 10/12 B: Held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 (Regular registration deadline: 11/2/2023)
- Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) Math Tournament: High school version of MathCounts, which is followed by a state invitational round (OHMIO) and national round (ARML)
The OCTM Tournament will be held at local schools from September 11 to October 6. The top scorers will be invited to OHMIO held on November 4, 2023 at Capital University (dates are tentative).
- Math League: Series of six 30-minute contests taken over the year. Results of all Ohio schools are posted.
Contest Dates for 22-23 school year: (1) 10/17/2022, (2) 11/14/2022, (3) 12/12/2022, (4) 1/16/2024, (5) 2/13/2023, (6) 3/12/2023
- Rocket City Math League: Team competition held in November (a multi-round individual competition is also held virtually from November to March, but we probably will not participate)
- Arete Labs’ Math Madness: An online platform for challenging math teams from around the country. We participate in the spring version, which runs from February to the end of April.
We successfully used this to challenge 10+ schools from coast-to-coast!
- Math Bowl at University of Cincinnati: Team competition held both in-person and virtually at UC in March. We participated in the virtual version.
- Purple Comet: Online team contest to be held from April 2-11, 2024. This contest attracts a large number of schools around the country and internationally.
- Mentoring and Support of GMS MathCounts Team: We will devise ways to support our future math teammates for their MathCounts competition!
Other Competitions We Are Targeting
We need to gather more information, but we plan to take a close look at participating in the following competitions.
- University of Dayton High School Math Contest: Team competition held at UD
- ARML Local: Team/individual competition held at local schools
- Bluffton University Math Competition: Individual competition held at Bluffton University. (Probably too far for us, but you never know.)
